Monte del Sol Charter School’s Casa Program serves families who are unstably or inadequately housed. We ensure that all students have equal access to the same free public education, as required by the federal McKinney Vento Act (1986).
We remove barriers to enrollment, attendance, and success. We respect student and family privacy and confidentiality. In addition to educational supports, we operate a food bank on campus, where all are welcome.
Our goal is to see every student in the program succeed, graduate, and go to college or vocational training.
We provide extra supports to give students the same opportunities as their stably housed peers, and we waive all school fees for Casa families.
Check the parent flyer to see if your family may qualify for Casa Program services, and call 505-920-8227
All Casa students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch. We offer bilingual referrals to community services, and help with applications for assistance. We collaborate with local organizations to help with rent and utility bill assistance. We are there when you need someone to talk to. We engage parents and support the whole family, a proven strategy for student success.
Program Director Cate Moses was appointed in 2019 to serve on the Education of Homeless Children and Youth NM State Advisory Committee.
